Privacy Policy
How we protect your data and respect your privacy
At Scopi, your privacy is paramount. This privacy policy applies to our mobile applications (iOS and Android) and our website (scopi.app).
In short: Scopi does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information or photos. All image processing happens entirely on your device or in your browser. This policy explains the permissions we require and the limited data collection performed by Apple and Google through their respective app stores.
Data Collection and Permissions
What We DON'T Collect
Scopi does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Your photos, EXIF metadata, and all editing operations remain entirely on your device (mobile apps) or in your browser (website). We do not have servers that store user data, and we do not track your usage or behavior.
Permissions We Request (Mobile Apps Only)
To provide our stereoscopic photography features, the mobile apps request the following device permissions:
- Camera: Required to capture stereoscopic photos. Accessed only when you actively use the camera feature.
- Photo Library/Storage: Required to save your processed images and load existing photos for editing. All photos remain on your device.
- Location: Optional permission to add GPS coordinates (geotags) to your photos. Location data is embedded directly into your photo files on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
On-Device Processing
All photo processing happens entirely on your device or in your browser. Your photos are never uploaded to our servers or transmitted over the internet. What happens on your device, stays on your device.
App Store Analytics
When you download Scopi from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, Apple and Google automatically collect basic analytics about app installations and usage through their platform services:
- Device type and operating system version
- General geographic region (country/region level)
- Installation and update events
- App crashes (if you opt in to share diagnostics with Apple/Google)
This data is collected by Apple and Google as part of their standard app store operations. Scopi has limited access to this aggregated, anonymized data for the sole purpose of understanding app performance and improving user experience.

How We Use Your Information
We don't use your information because we don't collect it. All features of Scopi operate entirely on your device or in your browser without transmitting data to our servers.
Crash Reports (Optional)
If you experience an app crash and choose to share diagnostic information with Apple or Google (this is a system-level opt-in setting on your device), anonymized crash logs may be sent to the respective platform. These logs help us identify and fix bugs. Crash reports may include:
- Device model and operating system version
- App version and crash location in code
- Memory and performance data at time of crash
Crash reports do not contain your photos, personal information, or identifiable data. You can control crash report sharing in your device's privacy settings.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not share your data with third parties because we do not collect your data. Scopi operates entirely on-device and in-browser, with no backend servers or data transmission.
Platform Services
The only third parties involved are:
- Apple App Store: Handles app distribution, updates, and payments for iOS. Apple may collect basic analytics as described in their privacy policy.
- Google Play Store: Handles app distribution, updates, and payments for Android. Google may collect basic analytics as described in their privacy policy.
These platform providers operate independently and are governed by their own privacy policies. Scopi does not control or have access to any personal data they may collect through their platform services.
Data Security
The most secure data is data that's never collected. Since Scopi processes all photos entirely on your device or in your browser, your images never leave your control. There are no Scopi servers to be hacked, no databases to be breached, and no cloud storage where your photos could be exposed.
Your photos are protected by your device's security measures:
- Mobile apps: Photos are stored in your device's photo library, protected by your device's encryption and access controls.
- Website: Images are processed in your browser's memory and can be saved directly to your computer. No data is transmitted to any server.
The security of your photos is entirely under your control through your device's security settings, backup choices, and access permissions.
